I am because you are…..thank you for seeing me…for really seeing me
Humanitarian Commitment Award - Mashujaa (Houston)
I’m so grateful for the Mashujaa award and for every single nomination I’ve gotten over the years. Special thanks to all who have made sacrifices to walk on some of those uncertain paths I took. The work is not done, and may never be done in our lifetime, but we continue to plant seeds…together.
March 2020 - Mayor Yolanda Ford
This honor by the American Caribbean Chamber of Commerce was at a reception of candid conversations with prominent international women titled “An Equal World is an Enabled World!”
A lot was shared as we explored our unique yet similar experiences that helped us gain incite as to how collectively each one of us can help create a gender equal world. There was a moderated panel discussion that was preceded and followed by networking sessions. I, along with a few other wonderful ladies were honored for the work we do in our various communities. The room was filled with beautiful incredible women from all walks of life. A huge take away for most, I think, was that we have to unlearn a lot of the social norms that keep us burdened with unnecessary expectations.
Business Partner of Choice - CIGNA Gold Circle
It was a true honor to be recognized by a team of colleagues who work equally as hard; they became more like family in many respects.
Congressional Award - Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee
This recognition by African Fashion Week (Houston) meant so much to me because what they stand for is grande. They put so much work into the excellence that African Fashion requires; it’s more that what goes on our bodies, they beautifully present the amazing greatness of African culture.
